Spent Grain is a band born of rock ‘n roll, raised by funk and soul, existing comfortably in the rolling hills of Jam Band Land.
In January of 2015, a seed began to germinate. Five guys started hanging out and making music together once a week in an old farmhouse in Cazenovia, NY. After honing their sound for a couple months behind closed doors, they were finally ready to let beast out of the cage.
Named after a byproduct of the beer brewing process, Spent Grain’s musical collaboration continues to evolve. The band’s repertoire consists heavily of original material along with their spin on some time-honored covers by The Grateful Dead, Talking heads, Jimi Hendrix, and Dave Brubeck among others.
